Mission and Vision

Mission

The mission of Elijah House Academy is to assist parents in providing a quality Christian education in a protected environment for children in the city of Richmond.

Vision

When God wants to change the world, a nation, or a city, He will birth a child to believing parents. Think of Moses, Samuel, Jeremiah, and Jesus. The Bible describes these children as “Godly offspring” (Malachi 2: 14-15) or “the seed of the righteous” (Proverbs 11:21).  God knows that in every seed is not just an “oak of righteousness” but a forest.  A seed planted in a nurturing environment over time becomes a forest.  From the forest comes the social movement (the prevailing culture).

At any given time, a nation or city is gestating the generation that will determine its future. If the righteous seed of that generation is protected – loved, nurtured and submitted to God’s eternal Word – that generation will be blessed and the nation will prosper.  “Righteousness exalts a nation … .” (Proverbs 14:34)  Right now, we are incubating the young people who will determine the future of our city, nation and world. God is searching for a place, a womb, where He can send the “righteous seed” for academic and spiritual training –  a place where character formation is emphasized and successful life skills imparted.  Elijah House Academy was raised up for this purpose.

God promises in His Word that such an endeavor will bear an abundant harvest. “Thus says the Lord who made you and formed you in the womb. ‘I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your seed; They will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses…For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.’” (Isaiah 44:2-4, 54:3)
